Saw two avalanche, very similar, just 50' away from each other. Bot seperate snowboard triggered. Very small, but enough to move a person.
Cross loaded slope. Bacon strips of both wind drifted and wind eroded snow all over lackawaxen. There were Enough wind erosion "escapes," that I felt pretty comfortable testerd the wind drifts/rode slope seemed pretty well bonded elsewhere, I was only able to flake a 4" thick coffee table sized plate.
Guessing slightly larger wind drift due to terrain combined w slightly more south aspect caused thus one to go. Both wind slabs fractured lower on the slope/wind drifts all te way to bottom.
I would have guessed avalanche happened yesterday due to bonding I encoencountered. My guess is for today am because gw chair was closed all day yesterday due to winds.
Rime noted on trees and snow high on ridges. Mixed bag of snow. Widespread heat damage/crust. Some creamy, slightly inverted, heavy, fast snow. Not much wind. It felt warm. High clouds moved in 1pm. Clouds Might be just thick enough to help w heat but unsure.... guessing windslab issues heals tommorow due to temp.
