Comments
The Main Face & Davis Gulch slid during the last storm cycle, probably around the same time as many of the other large avalanches in the Cottonwoods. Slides ran full track on the ground, with debris piling up 10-20 feet in the gullies. The debris from the slide went to about 8400', where the gully from Raymond meets the Gobbler's gully. There was evidence of slides coming from Raymond glades here as well.
The slide completely obliterated the aspen & alders in the gully and took out old growth trees as well (over 12" in diameter).
There was about 6-8" of fresh snow covering everything and it didn't look like Bob Sled had run.
