Comments
Dropped into a small gully on East Bowl and I could see some wind effected snow but it only appeared to be at the very top. Mid turn maybe 25' down the snow around me started moving but I was able to ski out of it. At first I thought it was just bad sluff but when I looked back I could see a small 5" crown about 20' wide. It moved slow and didn't run the entire slope but if this was steeper and there was a terrain trap below this could have been a bigger deal. Seems like there was some cross loading into the gully and I should have stayed more up on the ridge on either side. Nothing but slow running sluffs the rest of the way down.
My friend said he kicked off some similar mini slabs at the top of his run but not as big as the one I kicked off.
forgot my phone in the car so no photos.
