Comments
While hiking up-trail to below Sundial I noticed this avy and decided to check it closer on my way back to the TH. As I approached the avy I was surprised at its size. It had ran quite significantly starting at the top of the chute. The snow appeared fresh and didn't appear to be wind blasted from the weekends easterly winds.
At its terminus, it appeared to be (see picture) 5 to 10 feet deep. This avy path doesn't run nearly as often as the one immediately adjacent to it and closer to the Blanche trail.
There was evidence of small ish wet releases in most cliff bands below Blanche. These will likely become more prominent prior to the next storm cycle. Caution if not avoiding hiking the summer route to Blanche would appear wise for sure.
