Comments
This slide occurred the morning of Feb 17 on skiers' right of the gut running southwest from White Pine Knob. There were no riders in the area so we assume it was triggered by wind loading. Two days prior at the beginning of the most recent storm, there were huge wind ripple marks all across the Knob and the top foot of snow was inverted (dense snow on top of lighter snow). About a foot of snow fell on Feb 16 (several inches of which was graupel at the Bunchgrass yurt), along with high winds.
