Comments
There were numerous large sluff avalanches all over Porter Fork today. Most ran on a density change 4-6" down but some entrained all new snow on top of the melt/freeze or sun crust. Average size was probably about 300' long and 15' wide but the largest was by Gary's Gully and appeared to have ran about 700' long and 40' wide. These sluffs were mostly triggered naturally, were present on all aspects, and had debris piles 2-3' deep.
