Comments
Traveling in a party of 3 along the ridge line from the top of Crest Lift at Brighton. We noticed shooting cracks as we traversed the ridge, indicating instability in the new snow layer. We agreed that we would ski cut the top of V Tree. Upon arrival, one person in our party prepared to ski cut from left to right, but the entire chute slid before she even began the cut, just from our weight at the top of the slope. The slide was at the new/old snow interface, soft slab, 8-10 inches deep. Ran the length of the chute but terminated at the top of the apron. We skied the line with only small sloughing in the apron.
