Covered over with last nights snow, but obvious shallow soft slab cycle on steep northerly slopes surrounding the Milly Backbowl and Wolverine Cirque.
Simple snowpit illustrating recent layering.
Comments
Overall, it feels like Thursday greenhousing threw a cargo net on the snowpack and today's activity mostly revolved around shallow sluffs and point releases fanning out on steep slopes.
While exiting the Twin Lakes zone via Sol-Bright trail, I zoomed in on this outlier... a fresh looking wind drift which appears to have been triggered sometime today. That said (and observed)... bet if you were looking to trigger an avalanche, you could still find a pocket or two on steep slopes facing the north half of the compass.
